Chef Jay's Tri-O-Plex Bars

Chef Jay's bars are a food bar loaded with protein and carbs that seem to resemble more of a cookie dough type bar than the chocolate type bar. Nutrition Information: These bars are really hefty sized bar. They are much bigger than the average bar at 118g so they really are a food bar, not just a snack. They contain a whopping 30g of protein. However, this is paired with not much in the way of vitamins with only a little tiny bit of Vitamin E and Vitamin B6. This bar contains 440 calories, 45g of carbs, 16g of sugar, and 15g of fat total with 4g of that being saturated fat. Taste: These bars are based off a bowl of oatmeal. The manufacturer claims they taste excellent because of the lack of synthetic vitamins. These bars are not coated like most bars which means they won't get as nasty if left in the sun and they can be a nice break from all of those coated bars. They come in 7 different flavors, Banana Walnut, Very Berry, Caramel Apple, Chocolate Coconut, S'mores, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and Peanut Butter Banana. I love the range of flavor in these bars from fruity to peanut buttery. These bars for the most part taste fairly moist and good however some of them can be dry, crumbly and hard to get down. Conclusion: The great thing about these bars is how natural they are. They do not contain any sugar alcohols or artificial vitamins. These are a solid meal replacement for people looking for lots of carbs, lots of protein, and all natural ingredients. These bars have more carbs than I personally would like, but for someone who works out a lot this will provide energy and protein to help build muscle and push through a workout. Plus, these bars are so big you will actually feel like you ate an entire meal.
